The State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn, established in 1860 and better known as SUNY Downstate Medical Center, is an academic medical center located in the state of New York. Around 1,609 students are enrolled in the different academic programs of the university. SUNY Downstate is composed of a College of Medicine, College of Health Related Professions, College of Nursing, School of Graduate Studies and University Hospital of Brooklyn.
