Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, founded on October 3, 1887, as the State Normal College for Colored Students is located in Tallahassee, Florida. The University provides academic preparation at the undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and professional school levels. The programs are housed in the Schools of Architecture; Business and Industry; General Studies; Graduate Studies; Journalism and Graphic Communication; Nursing; and Allied Health Sciences, the Colleges of Education; Law; Pharmacy; Arts and Sciences; Engineering; and Engineering, Technology and Agriculture and the Environmental Sciences Institute.
