San José State University was founded in 1857. Located on 154 acres in downtown San José, California, the university has an enrollment of 31,906 students. The university offers all its academic programs via its seven colleges and six schools: Applied Sciences & Arts, Business, Education, Engineering, Humanities & the Arts, Science, Social Sciences, Art & Design, Journalism & Mass Communications, Library & Information Science, Music & Dance, Nursing and Social Work.
